This Privacy Policy explains how ProofPack ("the app", "we") handles information when you use our luggage inventory application on Android. We are committed to keeping your data private and on your device.
1. Your Inventory — Stays on Your Device
Everything you create in ProofPack — trips, bags, items, names, weights, values, notes, and the photos you take — is stored locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device, and we have no servers that receive it.
ProofPack does not collect or transmit:
- Your name, email address, or any account information
- Your trips, bags, items, values, or photos
- Location data
- Usage analytics or crash reports
There is no account registration, no login, and no backend server. The PDF report you export is your own backup. Deleting the app removes all stored data permanently.
2. Purchases (Google Play & RevenueCat)
ProofPack offers optional paid upgrades (a one-time Trip Pass and monthly/annual subscriptions) through Google Play Billing. Purchases are managed with the help of RevenueCat, which processes subscription status on our behalf.
To manage your purchase, the following may be processed:
- An anonymous, randomly-generated app user ID (not linked to your identity)
- Your purchase and subscription status (active, expired, restored)
- Device and store information needed to validate the purchase
Payment is handled entirely by Google Play — ProofPack never sees your card or payment details. This processing is subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.
3. Barcode Lookup (Optional)
When you scan a product barcode to auto-fill an item, ProofPack sends only the scanned barcode number to free, public product databases to retrieve the product's name, brand and weight. No personal information or photos are sent.
These services are:
- Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts, and Open Medicine Facts
- UPCitemDB
If you never scan a barcode, no such request is made. Barcode scanning is available only on supported mobile devices.
4. Camera & Photos
ProofPack uses your camera and photo library only so you can attach photos to items and bags. These photos are saved on your device and included in the PDF you choose to export. They are never uploaded to us.
5. No Advertising, No Analytics
ProofPack does not display ads and does not include advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking SDKs.
6. Sharing the PDF
When you export a report, ProofPack creates a PDF and hands it to your device's standard share sheet. Where that PDF goes next (email, cloud drive, messaging) is entirely your choice and governed by the app you share it with.
7. Children's Privacy
ProofPack is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we update this Privacy Policy, we will update the effective date above and publish the new version at the same URL. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
